Permits, placement and who may haul in Battlefield
Who may haul — the rule that matters: Battlefield Code §230.070 makes it unlawful to run a business collecting, transporting or disposing of solid waste in city limits without a City permit. The fee and process for that permit are not in the chapter. We hold ours.

A short-term permit covers more than 2 hours and less than 24; a long-term permit covers project dumpsters on construction sites for more than 24 hours. Project dumpsters must be closed when not in use and stay only for the length of the job. A driveway drop in public view needs it too.
Hours: §230.030 bars collecting waste in residential districts between 9 pm and 7 am, so swaps and pickups there run in the daytime.
Knocking something down: §505.090 sets the demolition fee at $35 per 500 sq ft of building, plus a $500 cash bond with the City Treasurer, refunded after inspection and proof of proper disposal is given to the City Clerk. Anyone providing services in the city also needs the $16 City business licence.
