Junk Removal in Springfield, MO — Load Hawk Dumpster Rental

Junk Removal across the Springfield metro and the 417

Junk removal is the other half of what we do. Instead of dropping a container and coming back in a week, a crew shows up, loads what you point at, sweeps up and hauls it off. It suits the jobs where the problem is labor rather than volume: a garage of heavy furniture, a rental the tenant left full, an office full of desks, an estate where the family lives out of town. We also take down and haul small sheds, decks and fences.

It matters here because nobody's weekly trash takes the big stuff. Springfield has no City trash service at all; Nixa's contractor takes one large item a week and no appliances; and in Ash Grove, Sparta, Billings and Marshfield the city code tells residents who want bulky rubbish collected to deal directly with a hauler the City has licensed. The rule of thumb on the phone: if it is a couple of pickup loads and you want it gone soon, call the crew. If it is a whole house, or a job that will take you more than a day to sort, a container on the driveway is usually cheaper because you are paying for the box, not the hours. We run both, and we can bundle them.

At a glance

What you get with junk removal

  • A crew that does all the loading, hauling and sweeping up
  • Clear, upfront pricing based on volume, material and access
  • Furniture, mattresses, appliances, electronics, boxes, renovation debris and office furniture
  • Same-day or next-day service in many cases — call before noon
  • Usable items donated and metal, appliances and cardboard recycled whenever possible
  • A container on the driveway instead if you would rather load it yourself

Cleanouts, turnovers and the one-off pile

Estate and property cleanouts are the biggest category: the furniture nobody wants, the appliances, the garage, attic and basement full of boxes. Move-ins and move-outs are next — landlords and property managers with a unit to empty, foreclosure and eviction cleanups. Then the one-off pile: the sofa, the mattress, leftover renovation debris, storm or seasonal yard debris.

For businesses it is offices, retail stores, restaurants and warehouses — desks, chairs, cubicles, filing cabinets, shelving, fixtures and displays. We can work after hours so the business stays open.

Junk removal or a dumpster — which is cheaper?

A rough rule: if the job is a couple of pickup loads and you want it gone quickly, call the crew. If it is a whole house, a renovation or anything that will take you more than a day to sort, a container on the driveway is usually cheaper because you are paying for the box, not the hours. When a job needs both, we price them together. We will say which on the phone — we do both.

Junk removal — the local specifics

Town programs cap what they take and when. Nixa: one large item a week with regular trash, scheduled with Republic Services, and no construction debris, fencing, carpet, decks, rocks, bricks, concrete, appliances, tires or brush at the curb. Bolivar: an annual Citywide Cleanup each spring — in 2026 it began Monday, April 27 — with items behind the curb by 6 a.m., one pile per category no bigger than 10 by 10 by 10 feet, and no household trash, hazardous materials, batteries, tires or appliances. Sparta has run a Citywide Clean Up too. Major appliances have been banned from Missouri landfills since 1991, so they go to salvage, and household chemicals go to the Household Chemical Collection Center at 1226 W Nichols St in Springfield, by appointment at 417-864-2000, cash or check only. Junk removal is for the pile that cannot wait for cleanup week or will not fit it. Usable items go to donation and metal and cardboard to recycling whenever possible.

Answers

Junk Removal — your questions answered

How is junk removal priced?

By volume, the type of material and how easy it is to reach — ground floor, curbside or up the stairs. You get one flat rate that includes the labor, the hauling and the disposal, before the crew starts. Describe the pile, or email a photo, and we will give you a number.

Do I need to be there?

For the first visit, usually — someone needs to point at what goes and what stays. After that, a gate code and a phone number usually do it.

Can you take appliances?

Yes — fridges, freezers, washers, dryers and stoves. Missouri has banned major appliances from landfills since 1991, so they go to salvage and metal recycling rather than the landfill. We tell you any cost up front.

Do you take yard waste?

Branches, leaves and storm debris, yes. A whole yard of brush is usually a container job — and green waste has to be kept separate, because Missouri bans yard waste from landfills.

How fast can a crew come?

Same-day or next-day in many cases. Call before noon and we will do everything we can to get there that day.

Service area

Junk Removal across the Springfield metro and the 417

We run roll-off containers out of the Glenstone Avenue yard to every town below. Springfield and the closest towns are often same-day; the edges of the area are more often next-day. Most of the towns we checked license or permit the haulers that work inside their limits, and a few keep containers off the street — each page says so plainly. If your town is not listed, call anyway.
