Roll-off dumpster rental in Sparta

Approx. 24 road miles southeast of the yard, around 36 minutes.

Sparta is approx. 24 road miles southeast of the yard, around 36 minutes — next morning as a rule, often the same day. It is a city of 1,953 by the Census Bureau's July 2025 estimate, up 4.8% from 1,864 on the April 2020 estimates base.

GFL holds the City's residential trash contract, and the code keeps bulky rubbish and construction and demolition waste outside the cart rules. Haulers need a City permit — see below.

Local knowledge

Getting our bearings in Sparta

Knowing a city properly is the difference between covering it and showing up with the right box.

  • GFL on the City contract since 2023 — 96-gallon carts and Wednesday pickup. GFL's letter says "bags, boxes, and customer owned containers will not be picked up."
  • $1 a month collection fee per cart on the City water and sewer bill.
  • City Hall at 200 North Avenue, 417-634-3992.
  • 1.24 square miles and under 2,000 people.

What comes out of Sparta properties

Garage and shed clear-outs in 10s and 15s, remodels and roofs in 15s and 20s, and a 10 for concrete and brick. Bags and boxes beside the cart stay where they are, so anything bigger than a week's trash is a container job.

Permits, placement and who may haul in Sparta

Who may haul — the rule that matters: Sparta Code §230.070 makes it unlawful to run a business collecting, transporting or disposing of solid waste in city limits without a City permit. The chapter has no permit section and no fee, so we could not find how it is issued. We hold ours, and we check with City Hall.

Bulky rubbish: the code tells residents to "deal directly with those licensed by the City."

Placement and demolition: we found no Sparta rule on dumpsters in the street and no demolition permit section. Keep the container on the driveway, and call City Hall (417-634-3992) before a street placement or a demolition.

Summarized from the city's published code and web pages as read in October 2026. Codes change — confirm with the department listed before you rely on it.

How it works

Booking a dumpster in Sparta

Booking a container here takes one phone call and about five minutes.

  1. 1

Call and tell us the job

One short conversation. We ask what you are clearing, where the container needs to sit, and how much room the driveway or lot gives us. No long forms, no guesswork.

  2. 2

We size it and quote it flat

You get one number covering delivery, the standard rental of up to 7 days, pickup, disposal and a stated weight allowance. If a smaller box does the job we will say so. If it is concrete, shingles or dirt, we say up front that weight decides the size.

  3. 3

    Delivered where you want it

The driver sets the container on the driveway, lot or job site exactly where you asked, with boards under it if you want them. Often same-day or next-day, depending on availability.

  4. 4

    Load at your own pace

Keep it level with the top edge and keep the banned items out — tires, car batteries, used oil, paint, chemicals, propane tanks, and fridges, washers, water heaters and other major appliances. Need a swap mid-job or an early pickup? One call or text and we are on it.

  5. 5

We haul it and dispose of it right

The load goes to a permitted landfill or processing facility, with metal, concrete and clean green waste recycled whenever possible. You get your driveway back the way you left it.
