Approx. 10 road miles from the yard, around 20 minutes — the closest town we cover.
Republic is approx. 10 road miles from the yard, around 20 minutes — the closest town we cover — and same-day when you call before noon. It is a city of 22,404 by the Census Bureau's July 2025 estimate, up 19.5% from 18,750 at the 2020 Census. Nearly all of it is in Greene County, with 149 people on the Christian County side.
The City does not run trash pickup, and it closed its recycling center in 2018. There is no City bulk pickup either, so cleanouts, remodels and storm debris are roll-off work.
Local knowledge
Getting our bearings in Republic
Knowing a city properly is the difference between covering it and showing up with the right box.
- Private trash service — households pick their own hauler; the City runs no collection and names no contractor.
- No exclusive franchises, by Charter — Charter §10.1: "No exclusive franchises shall ever be granted."
- Brush & Yard Waste Facility at 915 North West Ave — the first Saturday of the month, 8 am to 1 pm, and the Friday before, 12:30 to 3:30 pm. Limbs 6 inches or less, residents only — no commercial haulers, landscapers or tree services.
- Plenty being built — the City runs a BUILDS department and publishes a Major Project Tracker and a Permit Tracker Dashboard.
- More than 100 miles of streets looked after by the City's Street Division.

Sizes
Choosing a container size in Republic
Weight is what usually decides the size, not how much room the pile takes up.

| 30 Yard Dumpster | about 22 ft long × 8 ft wide × 6 ft high | about 9 pickup truck loads | 4–5 tons | Full home and office renovations, major cleanouts and estate projects, commercial remodels, new home builds, roofing jobs, demolition debris and multi-unit renovations. |

Permits, placement and who may haul in Republic
Who may haul: we found no hauler licence and no roll-off permit in Republic's code — Chapter 235 has no hauler section, a code search for "dumpster" turns up nothing, and the Charter bars exclusive franchises (§10.1). We found nothing that restricts who may run a roll-off here.
On the street or sidewalk: §510.010 lets the street, alley or sidewalk be used for building, repair or removal work "for reasonable periods of time," but a clear and safe walkway must stay open. §510.020 says building materials and refuse must be cleared within 3 days of the job finishing, and nothing may sit in a gutter so it blocks the water. The driveway is still best.
Knocking something down: any building demolition in city limits needs a City Demolition Permit — $100, with utility sign-offs and a Building Inspector review, issued as a letter. The City also posts asbestos guidance for demolition.
Summarized from the city's published code and web pages as read in October 2026. Codes change — confirm with the department listed before you rely on it.
How it works
Booking a dumpster in Republic
Booking a container here takes one phone call and about five minutes.
- 1
Call and tell us the job
One short conversation. We ask what you are clearing, where the container needs to sit, and how much room the driveway or lot gives us. No long forms, no guesswork.
- 2
We size it and quote it flat
You get one number covering delivery, the standard rental of up to 7 days, pickup, disposal and a stated weight allowance. If a smaller box does the job we will say so. If it is concrete, shingles or dirt, we say up front that weight decides the size.
- 3
Delivered where you want it
The driver sets the container on the driveway, lot or job site exactly where you asked, with boards under it if you want them. Often same-day or next-day, depending on availability.
- 4
Load at your own pace
Keep it level with the top edge and keep the banned items out — tires, car batteries, used oil, paint, chemicals, propane tanks, and fridges, washers, water heaters and other major appliances. Need a swap mid-job or an early pickup? One call or text and we are on it.
- 5
We haul it and dispose of it right
The load goes to a permitted landfill or processing facility, with metal, concrete and clean green waste recycled whenever possible. You get your driveway back the way you left it.

We found no dumpster permit. If it goes in the street, keep the sidewalk passable and the gutter clear, and have it gone within 3 days of the job finishing.

If you are a resident hauling your own — limbs 6 inches or less, on the open days. Landscapers, tree services and commercial haulers cannot use it.

$100, through the City, with utility sign-offs first.
Service area
Every town we cover
We run roll-off containers out of the Glenstone Avenue yard to every town below. Springfield and the closest towns are often same-day; the edges of the area are more often next-day. Most of the towns we checked license or permit the haulers that work inside their limits, and a few keep containers off the street — each page says so plainly. If your town is not listed, call anyway.
