Approx. 16 road miles south of the yard, around 26 minutes.

Ozark is approx. 16 road miles south of the yard, around 26 minutes, and same-day when you call before noon. It is a city of 23,544 by the Census Bureau's July 2025 estimate, up 10.7% from 21,276 on the April 2020 estimates base.

Households pick their own trash company, and the City only handles the billing for Republic Services customers. Haulers still need a City permit — that is set out below.

Local knowledge

Getting our bearings in Ozark

Knowing a city properly is the difference between covering it and showing up with the right box.

  • Open market for trash — "Ozark is not an exclusive trash hauler city." Republic Services customers are billed on the City water and sewer bill; a weekly cart is $15.33 in 2026.
  • Bulky rubbish is collected by request to the Director, and the code tells residents to deal with haulers licensed by the City.
  • Brush rules — limbs under 4 inches, tied in bundles no longer than 48 inches, no more than 18 inches across and 75 lb.
  • The June 29, 2025 storm — the City opened a temporary yard-debris drop-off on Hwy 14 for July 1 to 15, 2025.
  • 12.15 square miles — the biggest land area of the Christian County towns we cover.

What comes out of Ozark properties

Kitchens, baths and roofs in 15s and 20s, cleanouts in 20s, teardowns in 30s and 40s, and a 10 for concrete and brick. Curbside brush has to be bundled to the City's size limits, and the cart was never meant for lumber and roofing — tell us first if limbs or yard waste are going in the container.

Permits, placement and who may haul in Ozark

Who may haul — the rule that matters: Ozark Code §235.070 makes it unlawful to run a business collecting, transporting or disposing of solid waste in city limits without a City permit. The fee was not found, and §235.050 lets the City designate the disposal facility permit holders use. We hold ours.

In the street: the City lists a Public Works Right of Way permit, but nothing we found says whether a roll-off on the street needs it. Keep it on the driveway, and check with Public Works first if the street is the only spot.

Knocking something down: Demo is a listed Building Department permit, applied for on the City's SmartGov portal. Planning & Development is on 417-581-5976.

Summarized from the city's published code and web pages as read in October 2026. Codes change — confirm with the department listed before you rely on it.

How it works

Booking a dumpster in Ozark

Booking a container here takes one phone call and about five minutes.

  1. 1

Call and tell us the job

One short conversation. We ask what you are clearing, where the container needs to sit, and how much room the driveway or lot gives us. No long forms, no guesswork.

  2. 2

We size it and quote it flat

You get one number covering delivery, the standard rental of up to 7 days, pickup, disposal and a stated weight allowance. If a smaller box does the job we will say so. If it is concrete, shingles or dirt, we say up front that weight decides the size.

  3. 3

    Delivered where you want it

The driver sets the container on the driveway, lot or job site exactly where you asked, with boards under it if you want them. Often same-day or next-day, depending on availability.

  4. 4

    Load at your own pace

Keep it level with the top edge and keep the banned items out — tires, car batteries, used oil, paint, chemicals, propane tanks, and fridges, washers, water heaters and other major appliances. Need a swap mid-job or an early pickup? One call or text and we are on it.

  5. 5

We haul it and dispose of it right

The load goes to a permitted landfill or processing facility, with metal, concrete and clean green waste recycled whenever possible. You get your driveway back the way you left it.

Do I have to use the City's trash company?

No. The City says Ozark "is not an exclusive trash hauler city" — you can pick your own.

Every town we cover

We run roll-off containers out of the Glenstone Avenue yard to every town below. Springfield and the closest towns are often same-day; the edges of the area are more often next-day. Most of the towns we checked license or permit the haulers that work inside their limits, and a few keep containers off the street — each page says so plainly. If your town is not listed, call anyway.
